Working with students, has given her the experience needed to provide a holistic developmental advising with all students. Sarah has been a member of TEXAAN since 2019, and encourages those who are members to look into leadership opportunities as Regional Chair-Elects/Chairs or TEXAAN Executive Board. As a Region, Texas continues to outshine when it comes to leaders committed to the professional development of our academic advisors. It has been an awesome experience working with our Region Chairs this past year and looking forward to more throughout the years!

Chair Elect

My name is LaTanya Henry, and I am an Academic Advisor for Engineering students at The University of Texas at San Antonio. I hold a Master’s in Higher Education and Student Affairs Leadership from the University of Northern Colorado (go Bears!). I’m passionate about helping first generation students, underrepresented students, and students of color. I believe that TEXAAN provides so many valuable resources for advisors to be the best in their field, and I look forward to contributing to that vision. In my spare time, I enjoy spending quality time with my spouse, kiddos, and doggy Pepper, as well as creating home d├ęcor, painting, writing songs and creating music.
