Dissemination of Information is the fourth pillar of TEXAAN. As an organization, we desire to be the hub of all advising events and more. We have now created a place for all advising organizations within the state to post information about conferences at your respective institution.  Any Texas institution can post an event with TEXAAN. For more information, please contact Terrance McClain at

The University of Texas at Arlington Advising Association (UTAAA) was created as a forum for sharing ideas and exchanging information related to the delivery of advising services at the University of Texas at Arlington.

A primary goal is to provide its members with opportunities for professional development and peer support, ultimately building a network of resources to enhance student success in college.

Equally important is the representation and promotion of the interests of the academic advising within the larger university community.

UTAA host an annual conference each year in February. This year's conference speaker will be April B. Napier!

April B. Napier serves as the incoming Assistant Director of Multicultural Affairs at the University of Texas in Arlington. Napier was previously the Director of Multicultural Affairs at Abilene Christian University, focusing on developing programming and initiatives that address diversity and inclusion, and develop strategic plans and facilitation for faculty, staff, and students. Napier also was a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Social Work at Lincoln University, serving to enhance the academic and personal experience through training, facilitation, education and advocacy.

Napier has created a platform and coaching business for artistic expression and collective healing. She uses her artistic nature, specifically writing, speaking, and photography, to share her testimony and to empower others in collectively sharing, expressing, and healing. Napier uses her intense passion for inclusivity and equity to expressively address social justice concerns within society, as well as shining light on bridging the gap in identity disparities
